@risingsun6 once you get everything running zip the entire magicmirror folder. Then you can usually recover to a “last known good state” by unzipping the files with overwrite or just delete the “bad” magicmirror folder and unzip the saved version.

RE: EXT-Music player does not work
@risingsun6 sometimes a clean install is the way to go. I would suggest the following if you go that route
- Clean OS load
- Install Magicmirror 2.27
- Start magicmirror default configuration to ensure it’s loaded with no errors
- Install mmm-google assistant
- Update the config file
- Start magic mirror and test google assistant
- Use the google assistant web interface to load ext-music player and to update config.js
- Restart the mirror and test the player

RE: EXT-Music player does not work
Did you try the following from the wiki?
Refresh / Major Updating
This new command allow force reinstall or update all MMM-GoogleAssistant components:
MMM-GoogleAssistantand all EXTs installed
This command make automatic things !This command can be used when a new MagicMirror² version is installed
When you have too many MMM-GoogleAssistant components to update
When you want to refresh (like a first install) all MMM-GoogleAssistant componentscd ~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-GoogleAssistant
npm run refresh -
RE: EXT-Bring
I ran into this language issue. As a workaround until the update, enter the language number in quotes and it works. For example for english enter lang: ‘6’ in the configuration.

RE: Voice activation quit working
The delay must have been something on the Google server side. Today I’m back to getting near instantaneous responses.
-
RE: Assistant taking a long time to post result.
@bagronk I’m having the same delay. I have a spare client so I did a fresh install of the OS, MM, MMM-GoogleAssistant, EXT-Alert, EXT-Detector and it did not solve the delay.

RE: Voice activation quit working
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.
Since requests sent via the Assistant on the Tools tab of the web site are very fast and requests sent by voice are slow it would appear that the delay is in this area…
send to Google Server as wav
Google Send real time transcription and MMM-GoogleAssistant display it
Google Send ok transcriptionIf I get some free time I’ll use a sniffer and look at the IP traffic to and from Google for a voice request.

RE: Voice activation quit working
I’m not a developer so I don’t know the process flow. If I make a request like “Jarvis show my weather page” which is handled by EXT-Pages and a recipe does that go to a Google Server?
-
RE: Voice activation quit working
Any ideas on how to address slow response to voice queries and commands?
-
RE: GPU Accelerated rendering disabled
Have you tried the following?
cd ~/MagicMirror
DISPLAY=:0 export ELECTRON_ENABLE_GPU=1
npm start -
RE: Voice activation quit working
Confirmed with only clock, MMM-GoogleAssistant, EXT-Alert, EXT-Detector enabled voice query takes 14 seconds. Prior to updates responses were basically instant.
I’m timing from the chime after Jarvis “how can I help” until response.
System is an i3-8100 nothing else running in background other than OS services. Connectivity is 1GB ethernet, 100Mbps ISP, 19ms ping time. -
RE: Voice activation quit working
I updated Detector and voice response is working.
While it is working, the responses are now slow like some others have reported. If I use the GoogleAssistant request on the Tools tab of the web interface I get consistent responses in less than 1 second. Issuing the same requests as Jarvis voice requests I don get a response until about 14 seconds. The response difference if the same I simply ask for a page change (EXT-Pages) or it’s a web query like asking the time or the weather.
Thank you for your help!

Voice activation quit working
Hello Bugsounet, as always, thank you for sharing all of your hard work with all of us.
I had my mirror offline for a while. When I returned it to service I installed required Ubuntu update as well as MM updates and GoogleAssistant / EXT updates.
Since updating, voice activation is no longer working. If I log onto the mirror website (localhost:8081)and type a query into the request area on the Tools tab I get a correct response.
I’ve disabled almost all other modules to simplify troubleshooting.
if I look at the terminal output it seems that EXT-Detector is not loaded? EXT-Detector is loaded in my config.js as follows…
{
module: ‘EXT-Detector’,
position: ‘top_left’,
disabled: false,
configDeepMerge: true,
config: {
debug: true,
useIcon: true,
touchOnly: false,
porcupineAccessKey: null,
porcupineCustomModel: null,
detectors: [
{
detector: ‘Snowboy’,
Model: ‘jarvis’,
Sensitivity: null
}
]
}
},In the OS terminal output I see…

RE: Building a new Mirror on a system running Ubuntu 22.04
Hi, Glad to hear it’s supported. The list below covers a couple of items I observed so far.
Magic Mirror Installer - When I started the installer I chose the option of installing PM2 and GoogleAssistant at the same time. The installer hung at the PM2 install. I removed the MagicMirror directory and re-ran the Installer without choosing PM2 but still choosing Google Assistant. The installer then ran without error.
EXT-Screen - I attempted to install using the Gateway Plugin Manager. After pulling the files the installer hung on trying to install dependencies CEC-Utils, Unclutter, and DDCutil. I manually installed these packages, deleted the EXT-Screen directory and re-ran the install. On the second attempt, the installer hung on “fixing sandbox permissions”. I manually ran the sandbox fix script and was going to comment out that line in the prerequisites.sh file. I realized that my edited version of the file would be overwritten if I ran the script again. To be able to just move on I installed EXT-Screen using the manual clone and NPM install which worked perfectly.
EXT-Volume, EXT-Welcome, EXT-Pages, EXT-Motion, EXT ScreenManager - all installed without error using the Plugin Manager.
None of these items kept me from proceeding. Just sharing the info incase it might help you or others.

Building a new Mirror on a system running Ubuntu 22.04
Hi Bugsounet and all,
My Raspberry Pi has become a bit slow with the modules I am running. to solve this issue I’m building a new mirror on an Intel NUC running Ubuntu 22.04.
Just for fun I tried using the Bugsounet MagicMirror installer and the Plugin Manager provided by Gateway. I know Ubuntu is not supported but I thought I would give it a go.
I would be willing to document the items I have attempted and share my results if there is interest. I can either share this with Bugsounet privately or publicly here on the forum.
Bugsounet - thank you for all of this excellent work !!

Feature Request - Choose List via drop-down
Hello Bugsounet,
Really great work you are doing on these modules!
Would you consider implementing a dropdown list box to allow choosing which Bring list to display? This feature was available in MMM-Bring. I found this really helpful since I use more than one list.
Currently I have multiple instances of EXT-Bring in my config file so I can display multiple lists. If I could have one instance of EXT-Bring with the ability to choose the list displayed it would simplify my config files and the Bring list display page.
If there is a easier/better solution I am missing, please let me know.
Thank You
