Control Google home devices using MM?
-
Hello guys. Is that possible to control Google home connected devices using MM Google assistant. For example, asking MM to switch light off.
-
Hello yes it is possible.
The only thing that does not work are the routines -
Hello all,
it would also be very nice the opposite, that is: control the MM through Google Home (or Alexa …).
Has anyone ever tried?Thanks

Hi @Dany87, It’s planed to publish it (works for me)
Actually, it’s really complex for a not advanced user… and i’m affraid to have so many issueWhy ?
- needed a real https server (ngnix for example)
- a “real secure” certificate for https connexion (with let’s encrypt for example)
- create a google “smart-home” project
- link
assistant SDK
project tosmart-home
project
After Gateway app make the same actually

@bugsounet
I imagine its complexity, but I know your skills and I know you would still do a great job!
The advantage of this solution would be that the voice recognition part would be done only by Google Home (which is much more powerful than our makeshift microphones connected to the RPI) which would launch various commands to MM (YouTube, Wikipedia searches, weather, etc …).
In this way you could having two modules:
1- Google Assistant with voice recognition by means of a microphone connected to the RPI
2- Google Assistant without the voice recognition part that receives commands from Google Home (or Alexa …).Think about it … .I offer myself as a tester!

I do it with google on my MM, make sure light device is in your “google home app” and it just works. no recipe needed. You will have to go to google home settings and tie your smart app to it. I had to add “genie app” (my light app) to google home for it to talk to each other. it just works
