      Hi,

I’m facing a problem playing Spotify music on MM using EXT-Librespot.

Once I request to play the music using the MM as a play device, Spotify starts skipping the songs continuously and never stops. I can only recover the control if I switch back the play device to my phone or other devices.

I have tried reinstall the module but it didn’t work.

Has anyone faced a similar problem?

I have the same issue. Also no Audio at all, but that might be unrelated as I have made changes some time ago and not used Spotify. But the skipping is probably same as you

@kaj I installed everything from zero on raspberry-pi 4, and tried installing EXT-Raspotify instead EXT-Librespot and had the same problem. So, maybe is not a problem related to the player. Back to Librespot, sometimes skipping, something stop skipping but then, no audio at all.

After my post yesterday I saw on wiki that after changes to EXT-Raspotify in the config you must run npm run setup. Suppose same thing for Librespot. I currently have Librespot so I navigated to module folder and ran the setup. But I didn’t have time to check the result and I’m at work now…

Trying to add a video showing the issue. 15MB. Getting "Error. You do not have enough priveliges… "

Update, reducing size to 2,29MB didn’t help 😕

Did the video give any clue what was going on?

According to this thread, apparently this is a known issue for people located in Scandinavia (i.e, I’m living in Sweden).

This forum also mention that Librespot got a builtin workaround for this in the latest release, so a possible solution to solve this problem is just about editing line 37 in /EXT-Librespot/blob/master/installer/setup.sh from v0.3.1 to v0.4.2 and execute “npm run remove” followed by “npm run setup”.

Doing that, it start working again.

                          Hi, thanks for this report

I’m try to compile v0.4.2 to my prod pi for testing and verify if v0.3.x and v0.4.x is the same protocol

                          Edit:

                          • Right, protocol seams to be the same.
                          • I will push some change in accord

                            Just pushed with v1.0.3

for swiching v0.3.1 to v0.4.2 of librespot:

                            cd ~/MagicMirror/modules/EXT-Librespot
                            npm run update
                            npm run remove
                            npm run setup

Note: It’s not needed on fresh install
