Hello,
I am new to the forum but have been using MM and MM-GA (and several other plugins) for over a year now. Thank you!I updated every latest MM (v2.26), GA v6 and EXTs yesterday evening. While i mostly able to resolve the issue. I notice 2 things I still couldnt figure out:
-
GA Website systems section shows GPU Accelleration Disabled on Website.
-
Error related to GPU or MMM-Bose? Here is from log from NPM Start Dev.
[LOG] MMM Bose error in fetcher {"res":"error","body":"This is an error"} Warning: vkCreateInstance: Found no drivers! Warning: vkCreateInstance failed with VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER at CheckVkSuccessImpl (../../third_party/dawn/src/dawn/native/vulkan/VulkanError.cpp:88) at CreateVkInstance (../../third_party/dawn/src/dawn/native/vulkan/BackendVk.cpp:458) at Initialize (../../third_party/dawn/src/dawn/native/vulkan/BackendVk.cpp:344) at Create (../../third_party/dawn/src/dawn/native/vulkan/BackendVk.cpp:266) at operator() (../../third_party/dawn/src/dawn/native/vulkan/BackendVk.cpp:521)
Can I please requet help with above? Thank you in advance!

Hi, since MM² v2.26.0, GPU Accelerated rendering is disabled by default
For testing you can enable it with this in a terminal:export ELECTRON_ENABLE_GPU=1
and restart MM²
Note: It will be reset on each reboot
[LOG] MMM Bose error in fetcher {“res”:“error”,“body”:“This is an error”}
related to
MMM-Bose
Warning: vkCreateInstance: Found no drivers!
Warning: …related to Electron (main core of MM²) and Pi drivers
You can’t do anything for this
Don’t worry about this… it will fallback to some default if needed
Every program have warn/error, you don’t see it because it’s not launched in console
Generaly it’s under control… otherwise the program will close (crash) -
Thanks for response.
I run the command on terminal (there is no confirmation on response), restart MM and checked again GA website but the GPU Acceleration Disabled message still flashing in red.
Is there any downside of running MM with it disabled? maybe higher cp/mem utilization?
If I somehow managed to get it work, can command added on cronjob? This is since I have setup daily cron to reboot and auto start MM via PM2.
Re: MMM-Bose-Soundtouch: yep. managed to get it working.
Re: VK no driver error: Got it. Ignoring it. -
GPU acceleration is working now. I finally managed to get it working by adding the command on mm.sh on installer folder, chmod it and add it on PM2 startup!
Still curious the downside if not enable though.
Thanks again!

for pm2 using just try this:
export ELECTRON_ENABLE_GPU=1 pm2 restart mm --update-env
pm2 is able to keep that last environement (+/- all values set) of the first start
if you don’t update env, it will not worksfor turn off GPU renedrer:
export ELECTRON_ENABLE_GPU=0 pm2 restart mm --update-env

Yes I was not aware of it. Biut it works now, restart cron job executed this morning and confirmed the GPU acceleration is enabled when MM restarted.
I notice that the applicaton seems slightly faster and lower CPU/Mem utilisation but it could be placebo. To disable it back, I think you mean “export ELECTRON_DISABLE_GPU=1” ?
