Unsolved Ext-PIR works for a few days then stops
-
Have have had this installed for a while. It all works perfectly for few days and then stops waking up when you approach. If I login using VNC the screen in blank but using the keyboard to refresh Magic Mirror it all starts working again.
Any ideas please?
Running on a RPi 3B+

hi, any alert / error with
EXT-Alert
? -
Nothing comes up from the EXT-Alert. However the screen remains blank when I login via VNC on the Remote Desktop and the normal screen.
-
Can you try this in ssh (or terminal) and past the result ?
cat /boot/config.txt |grep dtoverlay
-
File Edit Tabs Help pi@raspberrypi:- $ cat /boot/config.txt |grep
#dtoverlay=gpio-ir, gpio_pin=17
#dtoverlay=gpio-ir-tx, gpio_pin=18
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms -v3d
#dtoverlay=vc4-fkms -v3dpi@raspberrypi:~ $
Came out from the command.
Thanks
-
why
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms -v3d
?
this driver don’t exist…Can you try with:
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
-
Sorry those are just additional spaces put in by the image capture software it is running the driver you suggest.
The annoying thing is it works perfectly for two or three days before stopping.
-
in linux Sensitive Case (uppercase/lowercase) and space is very important
After let’s see there
response is inside (EXT-Screen don’t turn off my screen
) -
Sorry I am not sure what you want me to do next? Thanks for the help
-
bah … correct your config.txt file in
/boot
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms -v3d
must bedtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
-
It is correct already, I copied the line slightly wrong from the screen.
-
So can you give me again the result of:
cat /boot/config.txt |grep dtoverlay
and past your EXT-Screen config too
-
This is the response to the command.
-
This is the config that I am running.
Thanks for the help.
